Just read an article in Rolling Stone magazine called “Why the Beatles Broke Up.” Really interesting if you like Rock n’ Roll back stories (I do).
Here’s what stood out for me the most: How insecure John Lennon was about his own abilities. Despite all the money, fame, adulation and music he created, when he compared himself to Paul in particular, he had a nagging self-doubt.
John Lennon, self-doubt?
For me, it’s a pretty good reminder that reaching a level of success as a professional does not magically eliminate our fear and insecurity. That’s something we just need to work on, independent of our achievements.
Because if John Lennon could still be wandering around wondering why he wasn’t good enough, the answer can’t possibly be found in checking off one more career goal.
