Freedom is Worth the Fear

Angie sent me this in an e-mail yesterday:

“I wish I could say that after one year I’ve found enormous financial success, but mostly I’ve found myself learning how to manage a lot of fear, self-doubt and insecurity about whether I can do this.”

She then went on to say how much she LOVED (her caps) the freedom, flexibility and time.

I know the feeling.  I haven’t had a job in nearly 10 years and I still get those same scary feelings some days.  But then I remember that that’s the trade-off — freedom to do whatever you want with every day in exchange for the occasional white knuckles.

As someone famously said, “I’d rather be scared to death in my own office than bored to death in someone else’s.”
